Three tips to help you get the most money possible from your spring home sale.

Are you looking to sell your home this spring? It’s the busiest time of year for the real estate market and preparation is key to maximize the selling price of your home. Here are my three essential tips to help you get your house ready to sell this spring:

1. Clean, declutter, and depersonalize. Consider hiring a professional cleaner. By decluttering, your home will seem bigger, and it gives buyers a blank canvas so they can picture themselves living there. As you declutter, depersonalize as well. This is also a great opportunity to get ready to move. Organize your countertops, shelves, and closets and remove any extra furniture. Each room should have a purpose and not feel cramped.

“Make it easy for buyers to see themselves living in your home.”

2. Small repairs and paint. Make any minor repairs before you sell. Replace any missing or burned-out light bulbs. Give your home a fresh coat of paint, but remember to keep colors neutral. Remove draperies, curtains, and valances to let in as much natural lights as possible. By making your house feel fresh, you can get a big return on investment this spring.

3. Invite an experienced real estate agent over for a walkthrough. Now is the time to have the conversation about your home’s value. An experienced agent can discuss the appropriate pricing strategy and together you can decide on the best time for you to list your house. Planning in advance makes the entire process less stressful!
